Sustainable Cities

80% of Australians live in cities, but planning and governance has long been fractured and market driven. We believe that the development of a national urban policy gives us a chance to change how we do cities, redeploying infrastructure spending away from urban freeways in favour of rapid public transport, urban consolidation and protection of urban bushland and waterways. There is a strong social justice component to this work, as Australians living in outer suburbs are vastly more vulnerable to increasing petrol prices and fluctuations in the housing market.
