The Beeliar wetlands are an extensive chain of lakes and seasonal wetlands threaded through Perth's southern suburbs. The place presents surprisingly expansive wonderlands of gnarled banksia forest and dimly lit paperbark glades home to competing choral assemblies of frogs. From the right vantage, the lakes are bright sheets that swell and ebb with the seasons.
